I think the most direct meaning "Flow" has for me is to be in the zone. Many activities I did during training were things that required my complete focus to do well, so I was always putting my all into it. That is what I'd call "Flow", when I'm going from one thing to another while maintaining a high level of focus.

Happiness in theatre is derived from the 100% engagement when we delve into the authentic human experiences of the characters.

"Flow" has given me the opportunity and space to develop creativity from the heart. This is unique to each of us. Within both solo and group activities in Bravo!, we were able to give rein to our inner canvas freely without rules or boundaries. It gave us young theatre enthusiasts the chance to interpret and express our voices on stage and experience great joy in the process.

To let go and be in "flow" should be a simple thing to do, but to achieve this effortless state actually requires time and practice. To relax and focus at the same time appears to be a contradiction in terms; it is only in finding the balance between them that "flow" can occur with ease. Being in "flow" is particularly important in education and in creative pursuits. When I first started at Bravo!, I found it really difficult to achieve. When I focused too much on my image and on being competitive, my vision clouded over; I became self-conscious and worried about my weaknesses and what others would think of me. I felt trapped, unable to think or feel.

"Flow" has let me bring my imagination to life, my thoughts literally flowing into reality on stage in my own way. As the fundamental teaching concept in Bravo! , flow has given us great joy and meaning through this experience.

I think "flow" represents an elemental force, so anyone can relate to it in almost any way. Water represents a gentle power, but one that can shape the landscape in a profound and powerful way. I think of the constant movement and finding the path of least resistance.

"Flow" is the power of a good team, flowing around, through, under and over each other. Work flowing into life, life as work.

The concept of "flow" can guide us to respect individual persons and follow their flow and pace so that each of them can find themselves.

Sm-ART Youth Project is a safe space with ample opportunities for the students to experience and explore. They are talking more, asking more, more motivated all round, becoming more confident with improved communication with family and friends.

Most important of all, they learned that there is no one single answer and started to think more.

The concept of"flow" reminds me of the sense of freedom and simplicity of childhood, a place of comfort and security; being able to exist and experience the world from your own perspective, and to simply enjoy the flow of life in a natural and leisurely manner.

This freedom of thought and development is very similar to that experienced by students in the Sm-ART Youth Project.

The programme inspired the students to open up their vision and value system, allowed them to experience the arts and creativity outside of school and to discover themselves and their potential. This was an invaluable experience for them.

Our lives are all unique and the paths we take are clearly different too. By making plans from the heart and paving the way for our future, we are able to take control of our destiny.

One of the aims of the Sm-ART Youth Project is, in fact, to help young people discover their future path, by preparing themselves from a young age to stand up and stand firm, ready to take on life's challenges.

When you are in "flow" it's a great feeling. And when you are in full flow, you can forget all your troubles and woes.

When you are in "flow" there's a sense of complete freedom and at the same time, a wonderful feeling of endless possibilities! During the 3 years of "Arts for Change" in the dance division, we experienced many waves of relevation through the power and creativity of the arts and were able to reach previously unimaginable distant shores.

Although they each took away something different, you could see that there was deep reflection as they tried to grasp the meaning and the impact of the themes.

"Flow" allowed me to use my imagination to work in the moment, to exist in the space in which photography and society interacted so that my work could better reflect the community. I watched these young people start from a place of not knowing. Three years on, they could apply the knowledge and skills they gained with their own experience and expression, and then using these same techniques, to gradually incorporate "flow" into their daily lives.

Dance with the flow,透過學習及創作舞蹈過程中,將個人所思所想隨舞蹈釋放展現。

"Flow" is simply being and moving without pressure and limitations.

How we interpret life in all its changes and expressions is very important. Contemporary dance gives young people a way of connecting with their spirit and with the community, it is a means to convey what they are thinking. In the process of learning and choreographing a dance, they give expression to their thoughts through dancing with the flow.

"Flow" is about two different states of being: floating without effort and active movement. In life we "flow" constantly, on the one hand floating effortlessly but also swimming vigorously at the same time. In leading the "Arts for Change" theatre workshops these few years, I entered into a state of "flow", both relaxed and focused, quiet and active, at rest and hard at work… I learned to slow down but not come to a complete standstill. And in encountering difficulties, being able to find solutions with calm.

For me, "flow" means to be free and relaxed, to enjoy a state of feeling free from restrictions, and to have faith in the process. Coming into the world of theatre from social work, working on scripts, rehearsals and being on stage felt like learning to relax and flowing into performing. Even though the body is in constant motion, the spirit is free, existing in flow with the young people and the crew, reacting to and with each other.

For me, to be in "flow" is to meander, to be free to enter into a world of wonder. The contemporary dance programme allowed me to interpret my thinking into dance, to become part of the art form itself.

"Flow" is about floating and sinking at the same time. Connection - In "flow" we experience and learn new things as well as other people's perspectives and opinions. It's about being in control and having understanding (floating) and also being out of control and not knowing (sinking), it's out of balance and chaotic. Revelation - Whether we sink or swim, we should express our thoughts and opinions and work together find solutions to the problems at hand.

"Flow" teaches us to be in the present moment. The JC "Arts and Actions" Project allowed teachers and students alike to experience "flow" in the arts. During the professional workshops, our teachers learned to set aside their roles as teachers to focus on the present, learning to flow in working with their peers. For the students, they learned to put aside their emotions to open to the flow of exploring their interests and abilities; to discover that by being present, they can achieve anything. The state of "flow" is not an illusion, it is real.

I really like the concept of "flow". During the pandemic, we appeared to be powerless and weak and yet you could see people struggle on doing their best. It complements the ideas behind "Arts and Actions", because undifferentiated learning means students' individual needs are ignored and unmet. AFTEC works with us to broaden and deepen their field of vision, encouraging them to try new things and to think for themselves, to reframe their view of life and develop their talents.

The biggest difference between being in "flow" and underwater sports is that you need to really relax in order to float. But it's not just about floating aimlessly, it should be done with purpose.

The outcome of grasping the relationship between the "Arts & Actions" Project and "flow" is that I will now consider how to bring the arts to students so that they can enjoy learning and gain introspection and joy through the experience. In the workshops, I learned how to use the state of "flow" in my own teaching.

"Flow" allows me to immerse myself in observation, exploration and fully experiencing all that goes on around me while setting aside my problems for a time.

During the "Arts & Actions" Project, I was able to observe the students, their reactions, their likes, their potential; but also to explore the different art forms, communicating and sharing the experiences and to discover things I really enjoyed and admired.

The word "Flow" means freedom, like the freedom you experience in creating a piece of art. It is so important to hold space for the students to learn creativity – to allow them to experience their creativity without judgment or shame. This is what I would really like them to experience here.
